Halocent Electronic Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. ("Halocent", "we", "us") deeply respects and is committed to protecting the personal information and privacy of every visitor and client. This Privacy Policy is drafted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the PRC Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), the Data Security Law, the Cybersecurity Law, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It explains, in a clear and transparent manner, how we collect, use, store, share and protect your personal information when you visit www.halocent.com (the "Website") and communicate with us, as well as the rights you are entitled to under the law. Please read and fully understand this Policy before using the Website.

1. Data Controller & Contact

The data controller is Halocent Electronic Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., registered at Floor 8, Tower T3, Vanke The Sky City, Qingpu District, Shanghai, China. If you have any questions, comments or complaints about this Policy or our processing of personal information, or wish to exercise your rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer at contact@halocent.com. We will respond within 15 business days of receiving your request.

2. Information We Collect

This Website is a purely static, display-only site; we do not actively collect or store any personally identifiable information on the server. (1) Enquiry data: When you click "Get a Quote" and are redirected to our commissioned third-party form provider (Tencent Survey / Google Forms), the name, company, job title, phone number, email and requirement description you voluntarily submit are collected by that provider under its privacy policy and forwarded to us for business communication. (2) Local preferences: We only store your language preference in your browser's localStorage (key: halocent_lang); this data remains on your local device and is never uploaded to our servers. (3) Log data: The cloud/CDN provider hosting this Website may, for security and troubleshooting purposes and under its own policy, record technical logs such as IP address, timestamp and browser type, which we use only where necessary for security auditing.

3. How We Use Information

We use your personal information only to the extent necessary to achieve the following explicit and legitimate purposes: (1) to respond to and handle your business enquiries; (2) to match you with an appropriate security consultant and provide proposals and quotations; (3) with your explicit consent, to send you service information relevant to your needs; and (4) to perform contracts and comply with laws, regulations and regulatory requirements. We will not use your information for purposes unrelated to the above; where processing beyond this scope is required, we will obtain your consent again.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Our legal bases for processing your personal information include: (1) your consent (e.g., submitting an enquiry form or subscribing); (2) necessity for entering into or performing a contract to which you are a party; (3) compliance with legal obligations; and (4) our legitimate business interests (e.g., safeguarding Website and network security), provided your rights are not overridden. You may withdraw any consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

5. Sharing, Transfer & Disclosure

We adhere to the principles of data minimisation and confidentiality and do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances: (1) with the third-party form providers (Tencent Survey / Google Forms) acting as entrusted processors, within the scope of providing form services; (2) with entrusted parties necessary to deliver our services (e.g., cloud and email providers), bound by agreements to process data only on our instructions and to maintain confidentiality; and (3) as compulsorily required by laws, regulations, regulators or judicial authorities. Except as stated above, we will not transfer or disclose your personal information to any third party without your consent.

6. Cross-Border Data Transfer

If you submit information via Google Forms or access resources provided by overseas providers, the relevant data may be transferred to and stored outside China. For such cross-border transfers, we adopt the safeguards required by applicable law (such as executing standard contractual clauses and conducting personal information protection impact assessments) to ensure your data receives adequate protection. If you prefer not to have your data transferred across borders, you may use a domestic form channel or contact us directly by phone or email.

7. Data Storage & Retention

We retain your personal information only for the shortest period necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy: enquiry-related information is retained for no more than 24 months after communication or business cooperation is completed, unless a longer period is required by law. After the retention period, we will delete or anonymise your personal information. Local preference data can be deleted by you at any time by clearing your browser data.

8. Information Security Measures

As a professional cybersecurity provider, we protect your personal information using industry-standard technical and organisational measures, including but not limited to: site-wide HTTPS encryption in transit, least-privilege and tiered access control, encrypted storage, log auditing and intrusion detection, and staff confidentiality agreements and security awareness training. Despite our ongoing efforts, please understand that the internet is not an absolutely secure environment. In the event of a personal information security incident, we will activate our incident response in accordance with the law, notify you promptly and report to the competent authorities.

9. Cookies & Similar Technologies

This Website uses no tracking cookies and integrates no third-party advertising or profiling analytics SDKs. We only store your language preference in the browser's localStorage (key: halocent_lang) to display your chosen language on your next visit. You may clear this data via your browser settings at any time without affecting your normal browsing of the Website.

10. Your Rights

Under applicable law, you have the following rights over your personal information: the right to be informed, the right to decide, the right to access and obtain a copy, the right to rectification and supplementation, the right to erasure, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to request an explanation of our processing rules. You may submit a request to us at contact@halocent.com. To protect your interests, we may first need to verify your identity, and we will respond within 15 business days. If you disagree with our processing, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

11. Protection of Minors

This Website and our services are intended for enterprise and institutional clients, not for minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you are a guardian and become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us and we will delete it after verification.

12. Updates to This Policy

When updated, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page; for material changes affecting your rights and obligations, we will provide notice via a Website announcement or other appropriate means. The revised Policy takes effect upon publication; please review it periodically to stay informed.
